According to Skysports.com, Manchester City have sealed the signing of Romanian goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon from Poli Timisoara. The 24 year-old will provide cover for Joe Hart after the departure of Shay Given to Aston Villa.
The promising keeper is highly-rated in his homeland and has already gained senior international caps. Mancini will be fully aware of the keepers ability, having performed admirably against City on two occasions in last season Europa League play-offs.
Despite attracting attention from Arsenal and Inter Milan earlier in the summer, it is City who have landed the imposing shot-stopper.
Mancini has hinted at more movement in the current transfer window, despite recently securing Sergio Aguero in a mega money move. He said:
“We are missing other players, we don’t have enough players for all the season. This is a problem at the moment.”
“I think we need another two or three players.”
With City about to embark on their maiden season in the Champions League , Mancini is keen to add to his already impressive squad in the hope of challenging on multiple fronts next season.
