Our punters here at the Football Transfer Tavern are hoping Tony Pulis can stump up the extra cash to bring the perfect round home. This comes after Sky Sports reported that QPR rejected West Brom’s initial offer for Scotland winger Matt Phillips.
The report notes that Pulis will have to stump up more than the initial £5 million to make the transfer happen, though talks are expected to continue in the coming weeks.
With James McClean being West Brom’s only signing so far, Pulis is clearly keen to add more firepower to his ranks, after also missing out on former Newcastle United and Chelsea striker Demba Ba to Shanghai Shenhua.
Though Phillips arguably scored one of the goals of the season last term, it is difficult to argue whether QPR can demand much more than the 5 million initially tabled by West Brom.
A small bunch of West Brom fans over by the dartboard here in the Transfer Tavern feel Phillips would be an excellent addition, but anything near the £10 million would be way too extortionate.
West Brom fans……… Would Phillips be a good signing for the club? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
