West Ham United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are in a jubilant mood, after seeing the news from BBC Sport that they have completed the deadline day signings of Alex Song from Barcelona as well as Victor Moses from London Premier League rivals Chelsea, and Nikica Jelavic from Hull.
Our resident Hammers fans are talking about Song, with the midfielder enjoying a positive spell with the Hammers last season where his performances led to him being made temporary captain under Sam Allardyce.
Irons fans can expect similar performances from the former Cameroon and Arsenal combative midfielder who recently retired from international duty, to concentrate on club football and will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing spell at the Nou Camp.
Moses has enjoyed positive loan spells with Liverpool and Stoke City and will be looking to further enhance his blossoming Premier League reputation at Upton Park this season. The powerful winger has gained 24 senior international caps for Nigeria and represented them in the 2014 World Cup since starting his career at Selhurst Park with Crystal Palace.
The two loan moves however, may have ended West Ham’s hopes of capturing Emmanuel Adebayor on deadline day as they now the maximum amount of loan signings allowed by the Premier League.
Therefore despite Slaven Bilic’s attempts to sign the maverick Togolese striker this summer, any transfer will have to be a permanent one in order to be completed before the deadline.
