We will enjoy watching England
Are England going to win it? Well that would be pushing it. But as a passionate England fan, I’m absolutely certain we’ll be proud of our boys come the end of the tournament.
This would be in stark contrast to the 2010 World Cup of course where an average squad with many players far from good enough were torn apart by Germany in the last 16. It was nothing but poor.
In 2014 though, we have so much exciting young talent. Ross Barkley, Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana are all on the back of great seasons and can light up Brazil.
Picking young, in form players can pay off too – just look at Wayne Rooney in Euro 2004. Had he not got injured – the Three Lions would have gone very, very close to winning that tournament.
Hodgson needs to unleash the young players and if he does – just watch them fly. More than capable of beating Italy on their way to the quarter-finals at least – we’ll enjoy our summer.
England’s preparations continue v Ecuador tonight and betfair are offering a 4/1 enhanced odds special via this link only.
Barca boys to lead the way
Barcelona had a below par season – of that there is no doubt. After the pre-season hype surrounding Neymar and Lionel Messi – they failed to deliver any trophies.
These two superstars will be the two best players in Brazil this summer though. They have a point to prove, have been well rested and can act as the perfect talisman for their respective countries.
Neymar comes alive in a Brazil shirt and this was the case on Tuesday night when he opened the scoring in a 4-0 win for the World Cup hosts v Panama. This is his home and his perfect stage.
It’s then over to Messi on Wednesday night to show us his best form. bet365 are streaming a host of the international friendlies live online from 7.30pm tonight including Argentina v Trinidad & Tobago so you can see for yourself how the Little Master is shaping up.
Let’s not forget the attacking talent he is surrounded by – Aguero, Higuain, Di Maria and co – but Messi is at the centre of things. It all goes through him.
Could this be Messi’s finest hour?
Watch tonight’s internationals live online with bet365 from 7.30pm tonight with Argentina v Trinidad & Tobago kicking off at 11.30pm.
