Worry for Birmingham City as Rowett is favourite for vacant Fulham job

rowett6221Birmingham City fans playing darts in the Transfer Tavern, are nervously discussing reports that their manager is the front runner for the vacant manager’s position at a Championship rival.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Fulham have made Gary Rowett their top target, after both Steve Clarke and Steve Holland turned down approaches.

Clarke held talks with Fulham last week, but was not convinced into taking the job and decided he was better off staying with current club Reading, as for Holland he decided that he wanted to remain part of the Chelsea back room team and help improve the struggling Premier League champions form so far this season.

Rowett has turned Birmingham’s form around since taking over at the club in September last year when the club were 21st in the Championship and couldn’t seem to find any form, but by the end of that campaign Rowett had led them to an impressive 10th place finish.

The Birmingham City fans here inside the Transfer Tavern are hopeful that Rowett will remain with the club should any offer for his services come in from Fulham come in, as he has been a mastermind!

Our landlord feels it would be a big mistake for Rowett if he left for Fulham, as he shouldn’t leave a job half done at the Blues!
