The Leeds United lot here in the Transfer Tavern really want to enjoy a big summer of activity. Indeed, the punters propping up the bar are eager to see the back of an absolutely terrible campaign and instead look ahead to next season. There have been many false dawns at Elland Road, though the close-season optimism never ends.
With that in mind, reports from Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post have proven fairly exciting. According to him, the club are looking to sign Angus Gunn of Manchester City on loan for next season, after the England U21 stopper enjoyed a fairly productive spell with Norwich City this term.

A promising custodian, capturing him on loan would certainly kick the campaign off well as those behind the scenes in West Yorkshire look to put another disappointing year behind them. As you can imagine, with excitement for the summer palpable already, the reports online have sparked a reaction.
So, having said that, here’s a closer look at it.

Gunn is a future England no.1
Played 40+ games for Norwich last season … would be a class signing and real show of intent
