‘Would be a fantastic signing’ – West Ham fans eager for club to buy £27m-rated lynchpin

During this summer transfer window, West Ham have been linked with some big-name signings.

New West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini has targeted Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Javier Pastore, according to Sky Sports, while Lazio winger Felipe Anderson could soon be joining the east London club, the Telegraph reports.

And the Hammers now appear to be chasing highly-rated Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri, with Sky Sports claiming the club will do battle with London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea for the Ivorian’s signature.

West Ham supporters can’t help but get excited about Seri – valued at £27m by Transfermarkt – potentially joining their club, which is hardly a surprise. The 26-year-old, who came close to signing for Barcelona last summer with the Guardian being one of many outlets to report on the failed transfer, is an excellent midfielder.

Seri’s passing, shooting and overall technical ability would make him an excellent addition to not just West Ham, but any side in the Premier League. If the London Stadium hierarchy manage to pull such a deal off, it would be an absolute coup for the club.

The Nice central midfielder is exactly the stature of player West Ham fans expected when their team moved from Upton Park to the London Stadium.

Take a look at their thoughts on Seri and his possible move to east London below…
