Very unusual to see football prices move. Even rarer to note that an individual player caused that movement. But Gareth Bale is one such a player and the price on the Welsh went out the day it was confirmed he was unable to play.
Historically this game is a low scoring affair. But I’d be looking for some value with Rooney, Carroll and Bent all jostling for a game. Bent to score first from the 46th minute onwards is 22/1 and allows for him being used as an impact sub.
Craig Bellamy has been playing Championship football but that won’t really count for much in my opinion and the Nutter With The Putter Anytime Goalscorer in a 1-2 win for England is 25/1.
Wales’ real problem is lack of big names whereas the England squad is packed with household names. That said, it’s difficult to remember the last time England didn’t either frustrate or disappoint with a disjointed performance and I’d be reluctant to rule out a 1-1 draw @7/1.
The Republic Of Ireland are also in action with Arriva hosting Macedonia. The Irish are strong favourites and it’s difficult to see them losing on their swanky new pitch. 2-1 is 15/2.
Kevin Doyle is in fine form so his anytime goalscorer price is miserable, but if you have him scoring anytime in a that 2-1 win it’s a much more inviting 14/1.
