# Unwelcome potential transfer blow emerges for Celtic – Report

**Celtic fans here in the Tavern are still yet to get over last weekend’s Old Firm derby victory, as they edged one step closer to securing the Scottish Premiership title.**

Brendan Rodgers will have been delighted with his team’s performance in their last outing against Rangers, after coming back from a losing position on two occasions to secure all three points with only ten-men. Although, they don’t appear to be having the same kind of luck on the transfer front, as [according to reports in the Scottish Sun, a number of clubs are interested in securing Scott Bain’s signature.](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2370905/scott-bain-celtic-hibs-hearts-bristol-city-birmingham-sign/)

Scott Bain joined Celtic on loan from fellow Scottish Premiership side Dundee in the January transfer window, as the Hoops made a move for the Scotsman after losing Craig Gordon to injury.

Indeed, Brendan Rodgers is [believed](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2370905/scott-bain-celtic-hibs-hearts-bristol-city-birmingham-sign/) to be keen to hold onto the ‘keeper, whose contract at parent club Dundee expires at the end of the season.

However, the former Liverpool boss will find it difficult to secure a long-term agreement for the shot-stopper at the end of the season, as Bristol City, Birmingham City, Hibernian and Hearts [are all interested.](https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2370905/scott-bain-celtic-hibs-hearts-bristol-city-birmingham-sign/)

**Landlord’s Verdict:**

Scott Bain has been rewarded for his sensational performance in the Old Firm derby, as a number of clubs have submitted their interest. Although, this is a huge blow for Celtic as they were hoping to sort out a long-term agreement for the goalkeeper, with a move to English football perhaps being a too bigger opportunity to turn down for the Scotsman.
