# Aston Villa: Ollie Watkins’ £28m price tag has supporters fuming

**According to an update by journalist John Percy in [The Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/), via [@villareport,](https://twitter.com/villareport/status/1301144055750045702) Brentford want £28m for striker Ollie Watkins and talks are ‘ongoing’ with Aston Villa over a potential dea, but some supporters are definitely not happy with his price tag.**

Watkins, who bagged a head-turning [26 goals in all competitions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ollie-watkins/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/324358) for the Bees last season, is seen as a priority target by Villa as they look to reinforce their attacking competitions ahead of a busy 2020/21 Premier League campaign.

Starting in just under a fortnight, the club have little time to sign a potential talisman who can help the club to stave off relegation for the second season running, but the price for Watkins in particular is a heavy £28m.

A fee arguably over the odds for a Championship player, some supporters have been blasting the asking price regardless of his ‘[amazing](https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/brentford/news/thomas-frank-lavishes-praise-on-amazing-ollie-watkins_406661.html)‘ ability – prompting many of them to voice their concerns over the ‘ridiculous’ update – here’s what these fans had to say:
