# Aston Villa: Fans react as Said Benrahma transfer links re-emerge

**Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to a further transfer report linking Brentford’s Said Benrahma with a move to Villa Park.**

Claret and Blue manager Dean Smith has made some improvements to his squad this summer which [include the signing of Ollie Watkins](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/aston-villa-news/villa-fans-rejoice-ollie-watkins-signing/) from the Bees.

Raiding his former club with the view to improve his attacking setup, Smith is also said to be interested in sealing a deal to sign Benrahma, who largely impressed last term.

The 24-year-old Algerian was one of the most prolific attackers in English football in the 2019/20 season, contributing with [17 goals and nine assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/said-benrahma/profil/spieler/290532) in his [43 appearances.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/said-benrahma/profil/spieler/290532)

Villa’s interest was recently discussed by a [report](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8677049/Brentford-prepare-5million-Germany-U21-star-Robin-Hack.html) which also claimed that Brentford were due to make a decision on the winger’s future, and that has now been [followed up by a similar report](https://t.co/C7mnhuo8g2?amp=1) which calls on Smith to make a move.

Reacting to the continuing transfer story, these Villa fans gave their opinions on the potential arrival of Benrahma…

> For me we need 1 more wide player, a striker and a back-up centre half. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We smashed a team that is going down and really should have got 5 or 6 tonight.

> Well it means we have the option of playing grealish through the middle as well so it would be great and he knows watkins and could bring the best out of him

> Well for me we need another winger, centre mid, striker and left back. Winger is the main one so him or Rashica or Sarr. Extra team depth out wide will be great
