# “Weak and slow and offers nothing” – Newcastle fans react to attacker’s performance

**The Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern were heavily criticising Ayoze Perez for his performance today.**

Newcastle United lost 1-0 to Brighton and Hove Albion to end a winning run.

It was a frustrating afternoon for Newcastle, who failed to penetrate a strong and resolute Brighton defence to get anything out of the game.

The decisive goal was scored by Israeli forward Tomer Hemed early in the second half, hooking the ball in from close range.

Although Newcastle were under-par as a whole, one player in particular came in for plenty of criticism.

Newcastle fans flocked to social media platforms to share their views and opinions on Ayoze Perez, who they argue has been poor for a while.

Numerous Magpies fans on Twitter were calling for the Spaniard to be dropped for the next Premier League match.

Here are how Newcastle United fans reacted to Ayoze Perez’s performance on Twitter.

> It depressing that Perez gets to start every game just because we have nobody else. Would much rather go 4-4-2 with Gayle and Mitro [#NUFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/NUFC?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)
