# ‘Welcome to the biggest club in England’ – Lots of Liverpool fans are happy after club reveal

***For the last year, the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been patiently awaiting news of a new arrival. The Reds have made a few moves since then, notably, Virgil van Dijk in January and Fabinho already this summer, but the player that has arguably been generating more interest than most is Naby Keita.***

A deal has been in place for his arrival for a year, and so naturally, the anticipation in the pub has been palpable.

A central midfielder by trade, Keita has enjoyed a fantastic few years in the Bundesliga, having become a bit of a stalwart in the middle of the park for RB Leipzig.

Liverpool were clearly impressed enough to secure a deal a year in advance, and now they’re reaping the rewards of that decision – as this week he has been officially confirmed as a Liverpool player.

The Reds took to Twitter at lunchtime on Wednesday to offer a series of Tweets regarding Keita, with news including [his connection with Steven Gerrard](https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1011929083826135041) and [confirmation of his arrival date](https://twitter.com/LFC/status/1011927189078577152) revealed.

Naturally, plenty of Liverpool fans were quick to respond to the Tweets, and responses were fairly unanimous – they’re absolutely delighted to see him join.
