# West Brom: Fans unhappy with Andy Lonergan deal

**West Bromwich Albion fans have been reacting to the [imminent](https://twitter.com/reluctantnicko/status/1347522928137670656) signing of goalkeeper Andy Lonergan on a free transfer.**

Sam Allardyce’s attempts to put his stamp on this Baggies squad is in full swing. Robert Snodgrass appears to be [on the verge](https://theathletic.com/news/snodgrass-transfer-west-ham-brom-football/zi04IkFKjHcZ#:~:text=West%20Brom%20are%20close%20to,stay%20in%20the%20Premier%20League.) of completing a move to the Hawthorns, and now they are now [set to bring in Lonergan](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/west-bromwich-albion/2021/01/07/big-sam-looking-overseas-in-bid-to-bring-in-a-striker-to-albion/) on a free from Stoke City in the Championship.

It is fair to say that Lonergan has not played much recently – he has only made [34](https://www.transfermarkt.com/andy-lonergan/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/14044) appearances since 2016 – but having previously been on the books at Liverpool, he does at least have experience around a winning atmosphere. Still, it is hard to see this being a transfer that will excite the club’s supporters.
