### The Verdict: Shrewd signing by Baggies

Reading star John Swift has already been [added](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/west-bromwich-albion/2022/05/26/west-brom-sign-john-swift-on-three-year-deal/) to the Baggies’ ranks ahead of next season and Lawrence could be a similarly excellent piece of business this summer.

He is a proven Championship player, having [scored 50 goals in 264 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tom-lawrence/alletore/spieler/229970) in the competition, and at 28, he still has years left in him at this level.
