# West Brom: Fans want Jay Rodriguez back at the Hawthorns

**West Bromwich Albion fans want Jay Rodriguez back at the Hawthorns after the striker took to Twitter to reminisce about his time in the Midlands.**

Rodriguez currently plays for Burnley, but he spent two campaigns with the Baggies between 2017 and 2019. He proved to be a big success, scoring 33 goals and providing eight assists in 90 appearances before returning to Lancashire and the Clarets ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jay-rodriguez/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/53360)).

On 16th February 2019, he wrote himself in to Baggies history as he scored against the club’s fierce local rivals Aston Villa in a 2-0 victory. To celebrate the second anniversary of that strike, he [shared a tweet](https://twitter.com/JayRodriguez9/status/1361752116205924363) celebrating one of the “special memories” he had playing for the club.
