# West Brom: Baggies ready to pay asking price for Josh King

**[According to The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/13680305/west-ham-josh-king-sebastian-haller-transfer-bournemouth/), West Bromwich Albion “would be willing to stump up” £15m to bring Bournemouth forward Josh King to the Hawthorns.**

### **Baggies ready for King move**

The Baggies have been [linked](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9114759/West-Brom-boss-Sam-Allardyce-eyes-cut-price-deal-favour-Bournemouth-striker-Josh-King.html) with a move for the Norway international, who is [out of contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joshua-king/profil/spieler/91059) at the end of this current campaign.

He would be available on a free transfer in the summer therefore, but the Midlands outfit could do with him now. As such, he could well cost £15m, a fee which Sam Allardyce and co are ready to pay, along with Newcastle.

### **Big move**

There is no doubt that this would a big move from West Brom. After all, their record transfer stands only at [£18m](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/west-bromwich-albion/2020/09/04/grady-diangana-seals-permanent-west-brom-move/), which they spent on Grady Diangana. However, desperate times do call for desperate measures, and the Baggies could do a lot worse than King.

Called [“outstanding”](https://thefootballfaithful.com/howe-declares-josh-king-is-the-complete-package-after-his-brace-against-newcastle/) by former Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, King has [failed to score](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joshua-king/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/91059) in eight games in the Championship so far this term. However, he has netted [48](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joshua-king/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/91059) times in 161 matches in the Premier League, which is a decent track record in the top flight. This promises to be a busy transfer window for West Brom as Big Sam plots his transformation of the team, with [Robert Snodgrass](https://www.wba.co.uk/news/albion-secure-snodgrass-signature) and [Andy Lonergan](https://www.wba.co.uk/news/lonergan-arrives-albion) already on the way. It remains to be seen whether King also comes in.
