# West Brom: Fans love Matt Clarke news

**West Bromwich Albion fans were delighted as Matt Clarke made his return to the action during the club’s Premier League 2 game on Monday against Sunderland.**

Clarke made the move to The Baggies from Brighton during the summer transfer window, and he made three appearances in the Championship early on in the season. However, a hamstring injury has meant he missed the next eight league games due to the issue ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.com/matt-clarke/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/307497)).

There was some positive news on Monday though as he was included in the Baggies’ U23 starting line-up for the clash against Sunderland. The Midlands outfit eventually prevailed 1-0, and Clarke should soon be able to play once more for the first team as the West Brom continue their push for promotion.
