# West Brom: Karlan Grant could miss Burnley showdown

**[West Brom](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/west-brom-news/) striker Karlan Grant is an injury doubt for his side’s crucial [Championship](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/championship-news/) clash with Burnley later this week, according to journalist Joe Chapman.**

### The Lowdown: West Brom prepare for huge game

Carlos Corberan’s side face Chesterfield in an FA Cup third round replay on Tuesday night but a bigger match lies ahead on Friday evening.

The Baggies make the trip to Turf Moor to take on top-of-the-table Burnley, in what will be a major test of their Championship promotion credentials.

Grant is out injured currently, however, and a worrying update has emerged.

### The Latest: Grant an injury doubt

Writing on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/ChapmanJ92/status/1615024812291653648?s=20&t=Vpuqyn0w7go6pwwzlcCiZA), Chapman claimed that the 25-year-old could potentially miss out on one of the biggest games of the season so far:

> “Grant struggling to make Friday as it stands.”

### The Verdict: Potential massive blow

Not having Grant available against Burnley would be a big blow, considering the Englishman has [scored three league goals](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/175/Show/England-West-Bromwich) this season and [24](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/karlan-grant/alletore/spieler/314183) in total for West Brom. He has also been [hailed](https://www.newsshopper.co.uk/sport/18272238.danny-cowley-praises-karlan-grant-two-goal-performance/) as ‘excellent’ by Danny Cowley in the past.

He has become an experienced player who can deliver end product at important times, and while he wouldn’t necessarily be nailed-on to start, he would be a strong option in attack.

The hope is that Grant ends up being fit on Friday, possibly being used as an impact substitute who can deliver an influential cameo, if required.
