# West Bromwich Albion: Fans enjoy club’s Diomansy Kamara compilation

**Plenty of West Brom fans enjoyed watching footage posted by the club featuring former Baggies attacker Diomansy Kamara.**

Albion’s official Twitter channel [@WBA](https://twitter.com/WBA/status/1265968813167738880) uploaded a compilation of some of the Senegal international’s highlights during his time at The Hawthorns.

Kamara spent two years at West Brom between 2005 and 2007, [signing from fellow Premier League club Portsmouth](https://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/west_bromwich_albion/4718515.stm). His first season with the Baggies was not a memorable one as he scored just once in 28 appearances and ended up with three times as many yellow cards as goals as Albion were relegated (as per [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diomansy-kamara/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/6053)).

However, the 2006/07 campaign saw the Senegalese forward burst into life as he struck [23 goals in 43 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diomansy-kamara/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/6053) for Albion, winning him the [club’s Player of the Year award](https://web.archive.org/web/20120415120100/http://www.wba.co.uk/page/News/0%2C%2C10366~1025985%2C00.html) and getting him into the [Championship Team of the Year](https://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/6582201.stm).

His highlights that season included a goal in the [3-2 play-off semi-final win](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/2241148) at rivals Wolves, as well as netting [doubles in both league fixtures against Leeds](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diomansy-kamara/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/6053/plus/0/saison/2006/wettbewerb/GB2/verein/984). However, indiscipline was still an issue as he was [booked 12 times and sent off once](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diomansy-kamara/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/6053) in that campaign. He eventually [left for Fulham in 2007](https://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/f/fulham/6256888.stm) after scoring [24 goals in all](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diomansy-kamara/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/6053/verein/984) for the Baggies.

These West Brom fans on Twitter were largely positive in their reflections on the prolific yet sometimes ill-tempered Senegalese “monster”, with one supporter saying that he “always liked him”:

> Remember him ripping Wolves and Leeds to pieces in particular. Part of a great attacking WBA side.
