# West Brom: Fans not impressed with Matheus Pereira during Fulham defeat

**Plenty of [West Bromwich Albion](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/west-brom-news/west-brom-phillips-hegazi-exit/) fans had their say on Matheus Pereira’s performance during their side’s 2-0 defeat to Fulham last night.**

Two goals in the space of four minutes in the first-half were enough to extend the Baggies’ winless run during their first season back in the Premier League and they’ve now picked up three points from their first seven games, scoring just six goals in the process (via [BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table)).

Bobby Decordova-Reid and Ola Aina found the net for the Cottagers before the interval to secure their first win at home in the top flight after they were promoted via the Championship [play-offs](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53603848) last season.

Pereira, who is valued at £11.7m by [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/matheus-pereira/profil/spieler/225984), was flagged up for his ineffective attacking play out wide.

According to [Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/west-bromwich-albion-fulham/isT), Pereira lost possession 17 times during the game, only completed eight passes and did not complete a successful cross, meaning he received the lowest match rating out of any West Brom player with 5.9.

As a result, supporters were not impressed with his showing at Craven Cottage, with some already fearing the worst of what might be to come at the end of the season.

### Pereira disappoints these Baggies fans

> We were always going to struggle this season but if it might cost £15 to watch [#wba](https://twitter.com/hashtag/wba?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) every Monday at 17:30, Albion will have to show a bit more than that. We were insipid. I like that Bilic substituted Pereira early though because he was anonymous tonight.

> What a time for arguably our worst 45 of the season. Our front 3/5 haven’t linked up in any way at all. Diang and Pereira look off the boil, Krov and Gallagher working hard but little to nothing Infront of them to play into. This is relegation unless sorted out. > Controversial opinion but for me the two wings cannot be occupied by Diangana and Pereira, they are both absolute defensive liabilities who are exposing us out wide. [#wba](https://twitter.com/hashtag/wba?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)
