# West Brom: Fans praise loanee Callum Morton’s performance

**West Bromwich Albion loanee Callum Morton put in a strong shift for Northampton on the weekend, scoring two goals in a 3-0 win over Grimsby Town. Baggies fans are full of praise for the 20-year-old striker, with one supporter branding him ‘a Scholes type’.**

Morton has flourished at his loan club, getting stuck in on the front line and scoring [five goals in six starts.](https://uk.soccerway.com/players/callum-morton/471430/) His double goal-scoring performance at the weekend marks his second brace of the season but he has claimed he is now looking for a hat-trick (via [Northampton Chronicle](https://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/sport/football/morton-delighted-bag-brace-he-now-wants-hat-trick-2005990)).

The youngster was also voted Northampton’s Player of the Month for February, claiming a huge 78% of the votes.

Cobblers fans are elated with their ‘excellent’ loan signing, but the West Brom fanbase are just as excited to see him picking apart League Two.
