# West Bromwich Albion: Fans call for Grady Diangana to start next week after Birmingham stalemate

**A number of West Brom supporters have pleaded with Slaven Bilic to bring Grady Diangana into the starting line-up for their next game against Brentford.**

The 22-year-old [came on as a substitute](https://www.skysports.com/football/w-brom-vs-birmham/teams/409803) in today’s [goalless draw at home to Birmingham](https://www.skysports.com/football/w-brom-vs-birmham/409803) for his [first appearance in five months](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/grady-diangana/leistungsdaten/spieler/342048) after a hamstring injury ruled him out for several games before the season was halted in March.

The on-loan midfielder played for the [final half-hour](https://www.skysports.com/football/w-brom-vs-birmham/teams/409803) at The Hawthorns, replacing the ineffective Matt Phillips (who [didn’t record a single shot](https://www.sofascore.com/birmingham-city-west-bromwich-albion/isj)), and, while he and his team-mates were unable to find a route to goal against the Blues, he was responsible for the Baggies’ [only two shots on target](https://www.sofascore.com/birmingham-city-west-bromwich-albion/isj) all afternoon.

As per [Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/birmingham-city-west-bromwich-albion/isj), Diangana also created Albion’s only big chance of a match which they dominated but failed to win, with [Birmingham Live](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/west-brom-player-ratings-romaine-18459246) reporter Joseph Chapman noting that he had “one or two bright moments”.

These West Brom fans on Twitter called for Bilic to include the youngster in the starting XI for next Friday’s clash at Brentford following his lively display this afternoon:

> Grady needs to start ahead of Phillips next game. Phillips just takes too long to do anything

> 3 games without a goal. Clearly Kanu shouldn’t be our starting striker anymore. Robinson up front with Pereira & Diangana should be our front three
