West Brom are now ‘close’ to manager appointment

West Brom are now ‘close’ to manager appointment -West Bromwich Albion News

BBC journalist Simon Stone has shared an exciting manager update for West Bromwich Albion supporters after developments on Wednesday.

The Lowdown: Baggies searching…

The Baggies have been in hot pursuit of a new head coach since October 10 after former boss Steve Bruce was shown his marching orders at the Hawthorns.

This comes after West Brom picked up just one win from their opening 13 Championship matches with caretaker manager Richard Beale since managing one victory and one defeat in the league.

Beale has been tasked with interim care of the squad while club hierarchy search for the right man to help turn around their fortunes.

West Brom currently languish in the bottom three, having drawn the joint-most amount of games in England’s second tier alongside Burnley.

The Latest: Stone shares exciting West Brom manager update…

Now, taking to social media, BBC journalist Stone has shared some pretty exciting manager news for supporters.

The reliable reporter, sharing news yesterday, claims West Brom are getting closer to a managerial appointment after interviewing ‘several candidates’ on Wednesday.

He explained (via Twitter):

“West Brom getting close to announcing new manager. Already interviewed several candidates and others today.”

The Verdict: Good news…

You could make the argument, no matter whom West Brom hand-pick, their prospects of automatic Premier League promotion appear too far gone.

Frontrunners QPR and Blackburn Rovers are currently 13 points ahead of the Midlands outfit, however, a resurgence in form could realistically give them a fair shot of making the play-off spots, with very few points separating the middle chunk of the table.

Much will depend on what goes on around them but West Brom’s new boss will confidently be able to tell his squad that there is still a huge portion of the season yet to play.
