The Lowdown: Eustace profiled
Eustace was appointed as Birmingham boss over the summer and likes to play a 3-4-1-2 system, as per Transfermarkt.
The 42-year-old won five, drew five and lost five of his Championship fixtures as Blues boss, with one of his victories coming at The Hawthorns last month.
The former Ireland and QPR assistant appears to be going from strength to strength at St. Andrew’s and has seemingly caught the eye of Baggies chief executive Ron Gourlay.
The Latest: Baggies links
West Brom reporter Cox shared a story for the Express & Star on Wednesday, looking at the managerial situation.
He stated that the club are closing in on a managerial appointment after interviews this week, claiming that West Brom ‘have an interest in several managers currently in posts’, including Eustace.
Thoughts on Eustace?
I'd have him in charge!
Not good enough!
The Verdict: Unlikely?
Eustace is a new name to be linked with a short move to The Hawthorns, but it could be unlikely amid growing reports surrounding Carlos Corberan.
Cox said that Corberan has been spoken to, while Alex Crook believes there have been at least two formal interviews between the Baggies and the Spaniard.
Therefore, a swoop for Eustace from rivals Birmingham may not gather any real pace, but it is interesting to know that initial interest is there and he could certainly be one to watch if Corberan doesn’t come to fruition.
