The Lowdown: Baggies face tough encounter
The Baggies are in a poor run of form at the moment, with Wednesday night’s 3-2 defeat at home to Birmingham City a woeful result and performance.
Up next is a tricky game for Steve Bruce’s under-fire side, with Norwich awaiting at Carrow Road for a key league clash on Saturday afternoon.
The Canaries currently sit second in the Championship – 18 places and ten points ahead of West Brom – and they will be favourites to prevail, especially with the visitors suffering injury problems, including Kyle Bartley and Semi Ajayi.
The Latest: Bartley ruled out
“Kyle Bartley won’t travel to Norwich tomorrow. Steve Bruce cited a hamstring strain. Three CBs down from four (natural options) in squad. #wba boss also faces 50-50 call on Grady Diangana (groin).”
The Verdict: Another blow for Bruce
In truth, Bartley’s form has not been impressive of late, with the Englishman booed by some supporters in midweek, so his absence may be a blessing in disguise.
Happy with West Brom's window?
It was OK
Not good enough!
On the flip side, Diangana’s potential absence is a big concern, considering the winger has already chipped in with one goal and three assists in eight Championship starts this season. That’s more assists than any other West Brom player, with nobody else even registering two.
The hope is that the 24-year-old is passed fit and is able to produce an influential attacking showing at Carrow Road, helping the Baggies pull clear of the relegation zone in the process. If not, their chances of providing an upset will be further reduced.
