West Bromwich Albion are confident of signing at least two more free agents, according to The Athletic.

The Lowdown: Deadline Day struggles

The Baggies were after multiple signings on deadline day, with Steve Bruce confirming that the club were looking to bring in Fulham’s Josh Onomah and Brighton’s Steven Alzate.

A move was even made to bring Theo Walcott to the Midlands, however, free agent Martin Kelly was the only late arrival. The deadline for loan or permanent signings has now passed, but it looks as if Albion are still keen on adding to the squad over the coming weeks.

The Latest: Baggies confident

According to Elias Burke of The Athletic, West Brom are now turning their attention to the free agent market.

The reporter stated that ‘are confident in bringing in two or three more new signings’ and are ‘prioritising reinforcements in midfield but will pursue a move for a striker if a sensible deal presents itself’.

The Verdict: Good news

It looks as if the Baggies were open to bringing in three more players on Thursday in Onomah, Alzate and Walcott, so it is good to know that they are still keen on additions.

There are a number of experienced English midfielders without a club, however, available attackers with Championship experience appear to be limited.

It will be interesting to see who the club go after, though, and it wouldn’t come as a surprise if they look to act fairly quickly after having a deadline day to forget.
