West Brom: Journalist shocked at bizarre kit update

West Brom: Journalist shocked at bizarre kit update -Championship News

Journalist Josh Bunting has been left stunned at an off-field update from West Bromwich Albion.

The Lowdown: Home kit stock issue

The Baggies haven’t had the best of starts to the campaign with just one Championship win from their first ten games.

However, the club’s home shirt for the current season appears to be extremely popular, with the Baggies revealing on Twitter that shirts are selling fast and that stock is low.

The Baggies shared on Wednesday that the home shirt will not be restocked, despite it only being the end of September.

The Latest: Bunting reacts

Taking to Twitter, the Islington Gazette’s Bunting shared his thoughts on the kit update, labelling it as the ‘strangest thing’ he’s seen.

“This is the strangest thing I’ve seen from a football club. ‘Won’t be restocked’ it’s September. Football kits go like wildfire at Christmas. What on earth is going on here.”

West Brom have since deleted the official post on their WBAShop account, so they certainly haven’t enjoyed the backlash.

The Verdict: Change of thought?

The club may well have had a change of heart regarding their popular home shirt after deleting their initial Twitter update.

It would make sense to restock the kit, though, especially as it seems popular with the supporters, almost selling out just ten games into a disappointing new season.

Income from merchandise is key for all clubs, including the Baggies, so hopefully, West Brom make a U-turn following what was a truly unusual Wednesday update.
