Broadcaster talkSPORT has now backed recent reports of West Bromwich Albion's talks with new managerial candidate Jody Morris.

The Baggies have been searching for a successor to Steve Bruce since mid-October after the former Newcastle manager was relieved of his duties at Albion earlier this month.

Before sacking Bruce, West Brom had won just one of their opening 13 Championship matches in a very disappointing start to the 2022/23 campaign.

Since the 61-year-old was handed his marching orders, Albion have been under the care of interim boss Richard Beale, who has since guided them to one win and one defeat in the league.

West Brom appear to be considering numerous candidates to replace Bruce, and there have been reports of negotiations with former Derby County and Chelsea assistant coach Morris.

The Latest: talkSPORT back Morris talks...

After recent rumours, it appears that talkSPORT have now backed these claims of negotiations with the 43-year-old.

Taking to social media, the outlet claimed that talks have now been 'held' with the managerial candidate as they share news from their 'sources'.

Now that talkSPORT have weighed in on the recent reports, it appears that Morris to West Brom could be starting to gain more and more traction.

The Verdict: Get it done?

Dubbed 'fantastic' by former Premier League midfielder Steve Sidwell, Morris' experience of working with Frank Lampard at Derby and Chelsea could be a big plus.

Particularly at Stamford Bridge, he has had to deal with big names and sporting egos in past seasons, and his high-level coaching experience may well benefit West Brom if they decide that he is the right man.

It may well be one to watch, with multiple sources now sharing news of his candidacy.
