Sky Sports commentator Gary Taphouse has called West Brom’s move for former Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic a ‘really good signing’.
The Lowdown: Rogic signs
The Baggies have taken advantage of the free agent market all summer and officially brought in Rogic on Monday before also adding defender Erik Pieters 24 hours later.
The 29-year-old left the Scottish giants over the summer and has now penned a one-year deal at The Hawthorns. Rogic is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also play on the right or as a second striker.
The Latest: Taphouse reacts
Taking to Twitter, Sky Sports man Taphouse reacted to the news of Rogic joining West Brom.
The commentator described the move as a ‘really good signing for the Baggies’ and hinted at a first chance to see the Aussie in action against Birmingham on Wednesday.
The Verdict: On the bench tonight?
Reports have suggested that Rogic is unlikely to feature this evening against Birmingham due to a lack of match fitness. However, it could make sense for Steve Bruce to include the Australia international on the bench at The Hawthorns.
The Baggies have only scored twice in a game on two occasions this season, so Rogic’s creativity could prove handy as the game goes on if the home side need a breakthrough.
