# West Brom: Yokuslu deal to end Maitland-Niles pursuit

**[According to Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett](https://twitter.com/RobDorsettSky/status/1356187116435345408), West Bromwich Albion’s deal for Okay Yokuslu will end the club’s pursuit of Ainsley Maitland-Niles.**

### **Yokuslu deal ends Maitland-Niles interest**

Yokuslu has completed his medical ahead of a move to the Hawthorns as Sam Allardyce looks to add to his squad on transfer deadline day ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/transfer-centre)).

However, that deal will put an end to the Baggies’ interest in signing Maitland-Niles on loan until the end of the campaign.

### **Disappointing**

While Yokuslu may be a good player, Maitland-Niles would have perhaps been a more astute signing. The 23-year-old has plenty of Premier League experience to his name, and has experience of winning trophies with Arsenal.

Valued at £16.2m ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ainsley-maitland-niles/marktwertverlauf/spieler/285845)), a loan deal would be the only option for the Baggies, and the Gunners starlet’s versatility could have provided a big boost to Big Sam’s squad depth.

Whether Yokuslu will prove to be the better signing remains to be seen – Allardyce will be hoping he hits the ground running at the Hawthorns.
