# West Bromwich Albion: Predicted XI to face Sheffield Wednesday

**West Brom’s bid for Premier League promotion has been rocked since the Championship resumed a couple of weeks ago and they will seek to get back to winning ways tonight against Sheffield Wednesday.**

Slaven Bilic’s team have returned to action with a home draw against Birmingham and a defeat at Brentford, while they are winless and goalless in their last four league matches either side of lockdown (as per [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-bromwich-albion/spielplandatum/verein/984)).

Tonight they travel to a mid-table Sheffield Wednesday side who are effectively clear of any relegation trouble and harbour only faint hopes of a late charge for a play-off place (as per [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/championship-table)).

Bilic claimed ahead of the match that “[nobody is really injured](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/slaven-bilic-delivers-west-brom-18509572)” for the trip to Hillsborough, although [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1381821/Preview/England-Championship-2019-2020-Sheffield-Wednesday-West-Bromwich-Albion) have maintained that Grady Diangana will be unavailable due to a hamstring problem. The fitness of the on-loan youngster should become clearer throughout the day.

Football Transfer Tavern has had a go at predicting the Baggies’ starting line-up for tonight, which shows three changes from the team that [started the 1-0 defeat to Brentford](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brentford-fc_west-bromwich-albion/index/spielbericht/3219498) last Friday:

Bilic has [hinted at changes](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/slaven-bilic-delivers-west-brom-18509572) to his team ahead of a frenetic run-in of seven matches in just 21 days, although his defensive unit will likely have a familiar look to it at Hillsborough. **Sam Johnstone** is sure to continue in goal, while the West Brom boss might also keep the back four of **Kieran Gibbs**, **Semi Ajayi**, **Ahmed Hegazi** and **Darnell Furlong** which [started at Griffin Park](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brentford-fc_west-bromwich-albion/index/spielbericht/3219498). If he decides to switch it up, the likes of Kyle Bartley and Dara O’Shea could be given a start.

The Baggies boss will probably also keep the defensive midfield partnership of **Jake Livermore** and **Romaine Sawyers** intact, but there seems plenty of potential for changes ahead of that duo. If Diangana isn’t fit to feature tonight, his place on the left will probably go to **Callum Robinson**, who [came on for him for the final few minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brentford-fc_west-bromwich-albion/index/spielbericht/3219498) on Friday.

**Matheus Pereira** should start again but could be shifted to the right flank instead of Matt Phillips, who was [hauled off at half-time](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brentford-fc_west-bromwich-albion/index/spielbericht/3219498) at Brentford following an [ineffective 45 minutes](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1381702/LiveStatistics/England-Championship-2019-2020-Brentford-West-Bromwich-Albion). The vacancy at number 10 could then be filled by **Filip Krovinovic**, who [came on for Phillips](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brentford-fc_west-bromwich-albion/index/spielbericht/3219498) that night.

West Brom’s goal drought could also see Bilic drop the axe on Hal Robson-Kanu as the lone striker. The Welshman [failed to record a single shot](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1381702/LiveStatistics/England-Championship-2019-2020-Brentford-West-Bromwich-Albion) at Brentford and was [subbed off](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brentford-fc_west-bromwich-albion/index/spielbericht/3219498) for **Kenneth Zohore** at the interval. The Danish striker at least had [three shots](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1381702/LiveStatistics/England-Championship-2019-2020-Brentford-West-Bromwich-Albion) in anger and might have done enough to forge his way into the starting line-up, with Albion needing to arrest their barren spell in front of goal. Charlie Austin is another option in attack.

It may seem a bold call for Robson-Kanu, as [West Brom’s leading scorer](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-bromwich-albion/leistungsdaten/verein/984), to be dropped. However, Bilic might feel that a change of tack up top is required given the team’s struggles to find the net in recent games.
