### Seferovic move unlikely despite West Brom interest

[Express and Star have confirmed](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/west-bromwich-albion/2021/01/20/west-brom-keen-on-benficas-haris-seferovic/) West Brom’s interest in Seferovic, but claimed that while Benfica need to sell some of their players this month, West Brom only have funds for a loan deal with the option to buy him in the summer.

With that in mind, the report states that a deal for the Swiss forward is unlikely this month even though West Brom and Benfica are still in talks for a potential deal involving the 28-year-old.

In the current campaign, Seferovic has scored seven league goals for the side, also[picking up three assists for Benfica](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/haris-seferovic/leistungsdaten/spieler/109256). In his Benfica career, the forward has scored 53 times, getting [19 assists in 146 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/haris-seferovic/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/109256/verein/294). He is also a regular part of the Swiss national team, [playing 66 times and scoring 19 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/haris-seferovic/nationalmannschaft/spieler/109256/verein_id/3384).

### Seferovic would add goals for West Brom

Seferovic’s goalscoring exploits show that he can add goals to the Baggies team. Allardyce’s men have scored the fourth-lowest number of goals in the league this season – 15. Only Burnley, Sheffield United and Fulham have scored fewer goals than them ([as per Whoscored](https://whoscored.com/Regions/252/Tournaments/2/Seasons/8228/Stages/18685/Show/England-Premier-League-2020-2021)). Matheus Pereira is their [highest scorer with only four goals in the campaign](https://whoscored.com/Teams/175/Show/England-West-Bromwich-Albion).

Seferovic is clearly capable of scoring goals and has international experience too, so he could be worth a punt for the Baggies.
