# West Brom should move for Muhamed Basic before it’s too late

***According to a TeamTalk exclusive,*** [***Middlesbrough are in talks to permanently sign Muhamed Besic from Everton***](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/exclusive-middlesbrough-in-talks-over-everton-loan-swoop)***.***

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international joined the Toffees in 2014, but has seen his status in the team slide from that point on.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan with Middlesbrough in the Championship, a transaction ‘Boro boss Tony Pulis is now keen to revive and convert into a permanent deal.

Before that deal can be completed though, West Brom should seek to hijack the transfer and secure the midfielder’s services for themselves.

## **The Breakdown**

Darren Moore’s squad is currently threadbare in the midfield department, and those that remain on the books at the Hawthorns are uninspiring options. Gareth Barry, for instance, is a fine player, but at 37-years-old can’t be relied upon to perform for the entirety of a gruelling Championship campaign.

The signing of Besic would provide an injection of youth and energy into the middle of the park and provide a foundation for Moore to build his new-look West Brom squad upon.

[Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/muhamed-besic/profil/spieler/93905) value Besic at £4.5 million, but given he is clearly surplus to requirements at Goodison, this is a deal that could simply descend into a bidding war between West Brom and Middlesbrough.

If the Baggies can make Besic their’s this summer, then Moore’s rebuild can begin in earnest.

***Thoughts, West Brom fans?***
