According to TEAMtalk, West Bromwich Albion are one of a number of clubs interested in Toulouse striker Rhys Healey.
Baggies eye Healey
The Baggies are believed to be in pursuit of Healey, who made the move from Milton Keynes Dons to the French side only last summer.
Toulouse paid £1.1m for his services (Football Insider), and the Ligue 2 team are now said to be looking for £5m if they are to part ways with the Englishman – that represents almost a 400% rise in value. Along with West Brom, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United, Norwich City and Bournemouth are all in pursuit.
21 goals in 42 matches for Milton Keynes put Healey on the map (Transfermarkt). Still, it was surprising to see him move to the French side – that is a path rarely travelled. However, he has settled in fantastically in the south of France, scoring nine in his first 19 games for his new club. All in all, he has 61 goals as a professional.
Would you like to sign Healey?
For a player who has appeared just four times in the Premier League by the age of 26, £5m would be a considerable amount of money to pay, and a concrete move from the Hawthorns outfit may depend on whether they are able to stay in the top flight this campaign. Either way, Healey is a player who is on the rise – it remains to be seen where he ends up.
In other news, West Brom fans want to this Champions League winner.
