Emmanuel Dennis 'had a deal with West Brom' in last summer's transfer window before it collapsed, according to Nieuwsblad (via Sport Witness).

As per the news outlet, the Hawthorns faithful wanted to sign the Club Brugge ace, who is now currently on loan at FC Koln, with Dennis having 'the Premier League in his head'.

There was an opportunity for the Baggies to sign him in the summer, but a loan deal 'jumped off on details'.

Dennis may have improved West Brom

Dennis may well have turned out to be a good signing by Albion if they were to have got the deal over the line.

The 23-year-old has scored no fewer than 36 goals in 146 games in total over all competitions across five consecutive seasons in his club career so far (Transfermarkt), and has also broken through at senior international level with Nigeria.

He has also made a relatively good start to life in the Bundesliga, winning five of his duels a game and also averaging 0.7 shots and 0.7 successful dribbles a match (Sofascore).

With the Midlands club struggling in the relegation zone at the moment, the striker could have been a decent source for goals, but unfortunately for them the move collapsed.

Nonetheless, the pressure will now be on Mbaye Diagne to get Sam Allardyce's men firing up the table from now until the end of the 2020/21 term.
