According to David Ornstein of The Athletic (13:35), West Bromwich Albion are now back in the race to sign Arsenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles on loan until the end of the season.
Baggies back in for Maitland-Niles
It had been reported by Sky Sports that the deal for Okay Yokuslu had put an end to a loan agreement for Maitland-Niles.
However, it now seems the Hawthorns outfit are back in the race to capture the 23-year-old on loan until the end of the term.
As is usually the case on Deadline Day, things can change quickly, and that appears to be the case here. Clearly, Sam Allardyce believes he can now find space for both Turkey international Yokuslu and Maitland-Niles as he looks to keep the Baggies in the Premier League.
Would you like to sign Maitland-Niles on loan?
Ornstein has revealed that Leicester and Southampton are both effectively out of the race for the Gunners man, meaning West Brom seem to have a free run at the three-time England international.
Whether or not he actually signs remains to be seen, but it is yet another twist in what is sure to be a hectic daw at the Hawthorns.
In other news, this 88-goal striker is having a medical at the Hawthorns.
