# West Bromwich Albion: Fans lay into Oliver Burke following loss to Millwall

**West Bromwich Albion fans laid into winger Oliver Burke after the club crashed out of the Carabao Cup to Championship rivals [Millwall](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49245467).**

The 22-year-old has failed to hold down a permanent place in the West Brom team since his move from [Red Bull Leipzig in 2017](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/08/14/west-brom-fans-twitter-oliver-burke-vs-millwall/).

Burke has made just [23 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/oliver-burke/leistungsdaten/spieler/341317/plus/0?saison=2018) since moving from the Bundesliga and spent the second half of last season on loan at Celtic.

Burke and his West Brom teammates endured a nightmare performance as they failed to beat Millwall for the second time in three days.

The Baggies drew with The Lions in the Championship last Saturday after a late equaliser by [Matt Smith](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49214393).

The loss caps off a mixed start to the season for new manager Slaven Bilic, who has [won, lost and drawn](https://www.wba.co.uk/fixtures-results/results/) each of his first three games.

Here is a selection of tweets from West Brom fans following Burke’s performance versus Millwall:

> Having slept on it… last night really wasn’t very good. We needed to bring another striker in I think, Burke shouldn’t be involved again. Centre midfield didn’t do enough. I like Kyle Edwards big future. See how we get on Saturday with a full strength team. [#WBA](https://twitter.com/hashtag/WBA?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)

> That was painful, by the way get Burke as far away from this club as possible please he’s useless x

> Shocking result, Millwall have done a job on us twice in 4 days.\
> Our play was great, but once Austin went off we lost a strikers presence and our direct play. Burke is finished in my eyes, terrible positioning, terrible dribbling, terrible passing and a touch worse than Rondons!

> Yes. An absolute waste of a shirt. Positioning awful. Passing awful.
