# West Bromwich Albion: Fans react to club’s link with Hamza Choudhury

**Fans of West Bromwich Albion have been reacting to a post on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/WBAReport/status/1348540097407422465), which relayed a report that claims the club are interested in Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury.**

According to a report by [The Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/01/10/mike-mcgraths-transfer-notebook-napoli-target-kieran-tierney/?utm_content=football&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1610310898), Sam Allardyce’s side are ‘leading the race’ to sign Choudhury, with the Baggies being the club ‘most likely to land’ the [£7.2 million-rated](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/hamza-choudhury/marktwertverlauf/spieler/341501) 23-year-old ‘if a deal is struck for him to leave Leicester City’ in January.

The report continues by claiming that the Foxes will only allow the defensive midfielder to leave ‘on a permanent deal’, meaning that, should West Brom wish the sign the [former England U21 international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/hamza-choudhury/nationalmannschaft/spieler/341501), a loan bid will not likely be accepted.

And, after [WBA Report](https://twitter.com/scxttwba/status/1348579937226285057) relayed this report on Twitter, fans of the Baggies flocked to have their say on the matter, with many questioning how their club could afford a move for Choudhury this month.

### So, what exactly did these West Bromwich Albion fans have to say in reaction to their club’s link with a move for Hamza Choudhury?

**“If it’s not a loan, then I don’t think it’ll happen (hope I’m wrong), with our name being linked, it’s probably to generate more money out of a buying club…”**

**“I can’t imagine he’d be very cheap unless he’s out of contract this summer. Can’t see us buying him, to be honest. Unless we sell someone for a similar amount.”**

[@davideaststand](https://twitter.com/davideaststand/status/1348549426168651776)

**“In which case, we’re not leading the chase, as we have no money to spend on him.”**

**“Someone’s leaving if he’s coming in on a perm…no way we’re forking out for him”**

[@JWba1996](https://twitter.com/JWba1996/status/1348547530527825921)

**“We’re not in the race then.”**

**“He ain’t coming here then. We’ve got no money to spend”**

**“Permanent? No chance”**
