# West Bromwich Albion: Fans recall 5-5 draw against Manchester United in 2013

**Plenty of West Brom fans were recalling the famous 5-5 draw against Manchester United in 2013, which occurred seven years ago yesterday, confounded all advice on [https://www.bettingtips.net/](https://www.bettingtips.net/greyhound-tips/) and was described by one Baggies supporter as “absolutely bonkers”.**

The club’s official Twitter channel [@WBA](https://twitter.com/WBA/status/1262714634928349184) shared footage of a sensational match at The Hawthorns on the final day of the 2012/13 season, a game that is perhaps best remembered for being the [last match of Sir Alex Ferguson’s 27-year reign](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/22499117) as the Red Devils’ manager.

United had long since claimed the title that season and they surged into a 3-0 lead, partly thanks to an own goal from Jonas Olsson. Goals from James Morrison and Romelu Lukaku pulled the deficit back to one before the visitors scored twice more to restore their three-goal advantage. \[via [BBC](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/22499117)\]

However, in a remarkable five-minute flurry towards the end of the game, Lukaku scored twice more to complete his hat-trick and bring his Premier League tally for the season to [17](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-bromwich-albion/toptorschuetzensaison/verein/984), with Youssef Mulumbu drawing the teams level – and there was still time for Markus Rosenberg to miss a late chance to score a sensational winner for the Baggies. \[via [BBC](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/22499117)\]

These West Brom fans on Twitter fondly recalled the incredible finish to a season in which they recorded their [best Premier League finish of eighth](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-bromwich-albion/platzierungen/verein/984):
