**[West Ham United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/west-ham-news/) manager David Moyes has had his head turned by exciting unseen youngster Oliver Scarles, according to reports.**

Indeed, the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) club are also currently nurturing the likes of midfielder Conor Coventry and defender Harrison Ashby, with both players having already carried a brilliant reputation.

Scarles is another to have come out of the flourishing Rush Green academy and Moyes [already selected](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/west-ham-news/west-ham-anderlecht-team-newx-conference-league-whufc/) him for West Ham’s travelling squad for the trip to Anderlecht last week.

### The Latest: Scarles on Moyes’ radar…

Although he is [yet to make his senior debut](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/oliver-scarles/leistungsdaten/spieler/922563) for the Irons, reports still suggest the unseen starlet has really turned the head of West Ham’s first-team manager.

According to [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/3663063/2022/10/12/ollie-scarles-west-ham-16/) reporter Roshane Thomas, Scarles is now ‘on Moyes’ radar’, with club staff taking a liking to the midfielder.

The England under-17 international [has also provisionally agreed](https://theathletic.com/3663063/2022/10/12/ollie-scarles-west-ham-16/#:~:text=provisionally%20agreed%20to%20sign%20a%20professional%20contract%20when%20he%20turns%2018%20in%20December%202023) to sign a first professional contract when he turns 18 in December 2023, perhaps backing the club’s real faith in their new rising star.

Highly versatile, the academy gem can play in three different positions ([left-back, left wing and central midfield](https://twitter.com/RoshaneSport/status/1580168937878458369)) – a real boon for Moyes who will surely have a keen eye on the teenager’s development.

After the breakthroughs of Rice and Ashby, this promising gem could well be next in line to graduate from West Ham’s [fabled academy](https://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwj5u9HSjd36AhULi1wKHdT0A0UQFnoECA4QAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.transfermarkt.co.uk%2Fwest-ham-united%2Fjugendarbeit%2Fverein%2F379&usg=AOvVaw091K04wFYS7_KoW6_fEeQR).
