# West Ham: David Moyes shares six-word Maxwel Cornet boost

**[West Ham United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/west-ham-news/) have been gifted an injury boost as David Moyes shared a six-word injury update on winger Maxwel Cornet.**

### The Lowdown: West Ham back on track?

Despite recently losing to [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) giants Liverpool, the Irons have actually enjoyed an upsurge in form over the past month. Before their defeat at Anfield, West Ham had gone [five games undefeated](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/spielplandatum/verein/379) in all competitions, including two top-flight wins against Wolves and Fulham.

Moyes has also enjoyed a near-flawless Europa Conference League campaign, most recently winning their [back-to-back double header](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/spielplan/verein/379/saison_id/2022) against Jupiler Pro League side Anderlecht.

While their result on Merseyside will be a sore one, especially with winger Jarrod Bowen missing a penalty, West Ham will be aiming for a return to winning ways against Bournemouth on Monday night.

### The Latest: Cornet injury boost…

Speaking to the media, Moyes has shared a West Ham injury boost involving Cornet, who has been missing since sustaining a [calf injury](https://www.claretandhugh.info/cornet-injury-update/) against Wolves three weeks ago.

The 59-year-old has since revealed that the Ivorian has returned to training, sharing the [six-word message](https://www.whufc.com/news/it-happened-david-moyes-pre-bournemouth-press-conference): *“Maxwel is back on the grass.”*

### The Verdict: Great news…

While it is unclear as to whether the 26-year-old can take part against Bournemouth, that the former Burnley star is nearing a return is undoubtedly great news for West Ham.

Cornet finished last season as the Clarets’ [top scorer](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/184/Archive/England-Burnley) and has proven to be a real threat on his day, with journalist Josh Bunting even calling the Ivorian a ‘[cheat code’](https://twitter.com/Buntingfootball/status/1477659716994097157).

As West Ham aim to get back in among the European spots in the league table, they will certainly need an exciting player like Cornet to help them in that regard.
