# West Ham: Fans react as Said Benrahma is already impressing in training

**Many West Ham United fans are reacting to the [news](https://www.claretandhugh.info/benrahma-enjoys-successful-first-day/) that Said Benrahma is already impressing in his first week of training at the club.**

West Ham News has [tweeted](https://twitter.com/whufc_news/status/1318949938106159104?s=20) out the news from [Claret and Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/benrahma-enjoys-successful-first-day/) that the Algerian has already impressed his new West Ham teammates in their first few days training together.

Benrahma joined from Championship side Brentford on an initial season-long loan worth [£5m.](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/west-ham-said-benrahma-transfer-news-brentford-medical-latest-b1080054.html) This is supported with an obligation to buy for [£20m](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/west-ham-said-benrahma-transfer-news-brentford-medical-latest-b1080054.html) next summer.

The winger had a terrific campaign last season for Brentford as he scored 17 goals and also supplied nine assists, per [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/137021/History/Sa%C3%AFd-Benrahma). He often proved a menace for opposition defences last season. This is highlighted by his remarkable averages of 3.8 shots, 2.1 key passes and three dribbles per game.

He has earned a lot of praise in the Championship, including from his former manager Thomas Frank, who called him [‘magnificent’.](https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/brentford/news/thomas-frank-heaps-praise-on-magnificent-said-benrahma_388448.html)

It looks like the Irons have a talent on their hands, and it looks like some feel he is the ideal player to fill in the gap that [Grady Diangana](https://sportslens.com/mark-noble-reacts-as-grady-diangana-leaves-west-ham-united-for-west-bromwich-albion/311770/#:~:text=West%20Ham%20United%20have%20announced,best%20in%20his%20future%20career.) has left. One fan compared his impressive start with Diangana’s as they said he is ‘Like Grady’.
