# West Ham: Fans react as the club places big valuation on Issa Diop

**West Ham defender Issa Diop has been a solid asset for the club since he signed from Toulouse, and with there being links over the last few months of sides in[Europe](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/atletico-madrid-want-issa-diop) wanting his signature, the Hammers have reportedly placed a price tag on the Frenchman’s head to make sure they don’t lose him on the cheap.**

According to [ExWHUemployee](https://twitter.com/ExWHUemployee?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1306510883108065281%7Ctwgr%5Eshare_3&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.footballtransfertavern.com%2Fwp-admin%2Fpost.php%3Fpost%3D318957action%3Dedit) and [tweeted](https://twitter.com/whufc_news/status/1306510883108065281?s=20) out by West Ham News, the Irons value Diop at around £50-60 million, a huge price tag which highlights how key the club believe the player is.

Diop has been linked to some big sides [including](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/atletico-madrid-want-issa-diop) Manchester United, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid and at just [23](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/issa-diop/profil/spieler/272622)-years-old, he has time on his side to develop into a top defender.

Many of the Hammers fan base are reacting to this news, with many struggling to believe how such a big valuation has been placed on the player, which is understandable as he wasn’t at his best last season as he only managed 0.8 tackles a game, via [WhoScored.](https://www.whoscored.com/PlayerComparison)

> I think he probably needs to leave us to progress. He’s gone stale at WHU. He’s the kind of player that enjoys more time on the ball and not constantly threatened. Probably best for both parties if he did leave. Just my opinion. 🤷‍♂️.
