# West Ham: Fans react to latest rumours about club’s transfer policy

**A lot of West Ham fans are reacting to rumours that the club’s transfer policy will change, with the Irons looking to focus on signing younger players in the future.**

That is according to club insider @EXWHUemployee, speaking on the [West Ham Way podcast](https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/3-the-west-ham-way-podcast-11th-march-2020/id1500580072?i=1000468142259) (Wednesday, March 11th). There have been multiple big-money signings who fans feel have not been worth the price tag, most recently Felipe Anderson who signed for £34.20 million from Lazio ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/felipe-anderson/profil/spieler/159372)) and £36.00 million signing Sebastien Haller ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sebastien-haller/transfers/spieler/181375)).

Combined, the two have only contributed to 30 goals in 93 appearances during their careers in East London, which will always be under scrutiny when they have arrived for such big fees. Haller is 25 and Anderson 26 but it feels like this new policy means that the club will not be spending big but instead look for younger players who possibly have great potential but a much smaller price tag.  ([Transfermarkt)](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/felipe-anderson/profil/spieler/159372)

They have also looked at players on a free transfer in the past, like Pablo Zabaleta, who signed for the club when he was 33-years-old, therefore not providing much in the way of long-term cover ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pablo-zabaleta/transfers/spieler/20007))

Here is what fans thought about the new rumours:
