# West Ham: Fans react to Tomas Soucek’s latest comments

**West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek has impressed since his [permanent arrival](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tomas-soucek/profil/spieler/283628) in the summer, and fans are loving his latest comments on how he views the game.**

The club [tweeted](https://twitter.com/WestHam/status/1321044215552495616?s=20) out some snippets from his interview, in which he said: “Even when I was younger, I told myself I wanted to cover every square of the pitch. I wanted to help my guys in every situation.”

The [25 year-old](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/143595/Show/Tomas-Soucek) has made a positive impact in both attack and defence. So far this campaign, he has managed on average 1.8 tackles, 1.2 interceptions, 2.2 clearances and 2.5 shots per game [(WhoScored).](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/143595/Show/Tomas-Soucek)

These stats highlight why he is becoming a vital player for David Moyes, and his comments emphasise how much work and effort he puts in on the pitch to do his best for the club.

It is understandable to see why many Hammers fans love him, and it is not just the fan base appreciating him. Teammate and captain Declan Rice [said:](https://www.football365.com/news/rice-praises-his-fantastic-west-ham-teammate) “He’s brilliant to play with. He’s a player we definitely needed, with some legs to make the box and obviously get back as well.

“He’s added something to the team, which is brilliant. He gives us an out every time and when he’s popping up in the box, we’ve not really had that over the years. It’s fantastic to play with him.”
