# West Ham: Irons plotting new Duje Caleta-Car bid

**West Ham are planning to make a new offer for Marseille defender Duje Caleta-Car, according to Turkish journalist [Ekrem Konur](https://twitter.com/Ekremkonur/status/1423904146768351235).**

Caleta-Car is 24 years of age and has been with the French club since [2018](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/duje-caleta-car/profil/spieler/238266). According to [Konur](https://twitter.com/Ekremkonur/status/1423904146768351235), the Irons are planning to hold further talks with Marseille over a deal for the centre-back.

He took to Twitter on Saturday morning to share the news, with Caleta-Car possibly becoming the club’s [first](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/transfers/verein/379) big-money signing of the summer.

Time is ticking, and with the new season just days away, West Ham now need to start getting deals over the line.
