# West Ham: Arthur Masuaku set for Besiktas loan move

**[West Ham United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/west-ham-news/) defender Arthur Masuaku is set for an imminent departure from east London as reports from Turkey share the latest on his future.**

### The Lowdown: West Ham’s summer overhaul…

The Hammers have sealed deals for Nayef Aguerd, Flynn Downes, Alphonse Areola (permanently) and Gianluca Scamacca so far this summer, with David Moyes seemingly overseeing a major summer overhaul at the London Stadium.

It is believed that West Ham also want to sign a left-sided player and Lille midfielder Amadou Onana ([ExWHUemployee](https://www.patreon.com/posts/transfer-update-69849078)) as the east Londoners gear up for a hectic 2022/23 [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) campaign.

In terms of outgoings, surplus-to-requirements figures in the squad at Rush Green will need to move on as Moyes tweaks his squad and upgrades in key areas.

### The Latest: Masuaku set for loan exit…

As per reports out of Turkey, Masuaku is set to seal an imminent departure to Besiktas on loan.

[Fanatik](https://www.fanatik.com.tr/son-dakika-haberi-arthur-masuaku-besiktas-icin-yola-cikiyor-2294372) claim the Congolese ace ‘will come to Istanbul within a week’ to sign for the Super Lig club on a temporary basis, with Besiktas also having the option to buy him outright if they wish to do so.

### The Verdict: Right move…

Having been called ‘[brilliant](https://www.goal.com/en/news/west-ham-captain-noble-heaps-praise-on-brilliant-masuaku/k77fm2181zg11vf6ho1o6uc5h)‘ by West Ham icon Mark Noble in the past, Masuaku has had some [standout moments](https://twitter.com/henrywinter/status/1320006805943189505) in claret and blue.

However, it seems clear that he is no longer part of Moyes’ plans given his lack of game-time last season, with just [13](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/122980/History/Arthur-Masuaku) top-flight appearances ([seven](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/122980/History/Arthur-Masuaku) of which were as a substitute).

Therefore, it would be for the best if he seals a loan move to Turkey, and West Ham may be hoping that the 28-year-old has a profitable campaign and boosts his market value ahead of a possible permanent sale next summer…or indeed a possible renaissance at the London Stadium.
