### The Lowdown: Irons eye new signings…

Irons boss David Moyes isn’t resting on his laurels ahead of the September 1 deadline with reliable reports claiming the Scotsman has his eye on [even more West Ham signings.](https://www.patreon.com/posts/transfer-update-70152500)

Having sealed deals for Nayef Aguerd, Flynn Downes, Alphonse Areola, Gianluca Scamacca and Maxwel Cornet, a defensive crisis has prompted the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) side to take to the market once again.

Indeed, talks have apparently been held over Fenerbache star Attila Szalai while discussions are ongoing over a move for Paris-Saint Germain defender Thilo Kehrer ([The Daily Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1653785/West-Ham-transfer-news-Thilo-Kehrer-talks-Fenerbahce-Attila-Szalai)).

### The Latest: West Ham make significant Kiwior bid…

Now, as per [Sky Sports reporter Di Marzio](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/it/calciomercato-west-ham-kiwior-spezia-12-agosto-2022), the Hammers have made an ‘important’ bid to sign Poland international ace Kiwior from Serie A side Spezia.

The 22-year-old, also wanted by European giants AC Milan, seems intent on rejecting West Ham’s offer as things stand with his eyes set on regular football ahead of the World Cup.

### The Verdict: Hope for a U-turn…

Di Marzio claims that Kiwior’s stance is [‘at least for the moment’,](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/it/calciomercato-west-ham-kiwior-spezia-12-agosto-2022) meaning something could potentially change depending on developments.

The Pole’s obvious quality will certainly have West Ham hoping for a U-turn on his alleged stance.

Kiwior even finished 21/22 as one of Spezia’s most solid defenders and made more tackles per 90 than any of his teammates domestically ([WhoScored)](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/1501/Archive/Italy-Spezia).

Out of their entire squad, the starlet also ranked in as their[fourth-best performer](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/1501/Archive/Italy-Spezia) by average match rating over last season, with it being clear he is certainly one to watch.
