West Ham targets Duje Caleta-Car and Kurt Zouma have similar profiles, says Ligue 1 expert Adam White.

Both players have been linked with a move to the London Stadium this summer, with David Moyes looking to strengthen his defensive options.

According to the Evening Standard, West Ham are really pushing for Zouma, though his wages are proving to be a stumbling block.

Elsewhere, French outlet L'Equipe have reported that the Hammers have made an offer for Caleta-Car.

Ultimately, for White, the two central defenders are similar, though he does have some doubts over Caleta-Car's ability. The Get French Football News writer told TT:

"They have a similar sort of profile, but I feel that with Caleta-Car, he's been quite inconsistent in France.

"I think in France, it's often a more pragmatic league and teams will be a little bit more cagey and sit a little bit deeper, which suits his style. But balls over the top, balls in behind, games with a lot of counter attacking and counter pressing, I think he'd struggle.

"So he has a similar profile to Zouma, but I wouldn't be thinking to replace Zouma with him necessarily."

At 6 ft 4, like Zouma (6 ft 3), Caleta-Car definitely has height and would bring that strength in the air to West Ham.

Based on White's words, though, it looks like the other areas of the Croatian's game could be exploited. Furthermore, the Chelsea man, with his Premier League experience, still has to be the priority for Moyes.
